"Windows To Our Souls"

This is one of the images I created for the TVAA Self Portrait exhibition that is currently showing at the TVAA Downtown Gallery. I based it on the idea that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Self portraits may be windows into the artist's inner being or perhaps an illusion created to present the artist as she/he wants to be seen. Whatever the motivation, artists have been creating self portraits since the emergence of art. The TVAA exhibit presents a variety of interpretations of the self portrait in many different mediums.
